After Eileen and I had a quick bite of breakfast and good cups of coffee, we packed my computer into the car and headed to town to have Verizon help me get my wireless working. I spent over an hour on the phone last night and was finally handed off to an "Olga" who did not "speaka" the English. She finally said she was going to send me to the "Broad Band People" and after holding about 15 more minutes, I finally looked at my phone only to see that she had disconnected me! ARGHHH!! Of course by then, we'd had our second glass of wine and I could have cared less! :-) It was a gorgeous day. What a breath of fresh air when we arrived at Verizon. When the greeter asked how they could help me - I told them I needed a computer Guru and was directed to one of the nicest young men named Brad. He took his time and got everything fixed "toot sweet"! Of course by the time we left, we had looked at pictures of his twin baby girls and his stepson and wife and had recommended a raise and promotion for him to his Manager - Michael who was great also. Then we stopped at a shop Eileen wanted to browse through called Shore Decor where she found something she wanted to try. When she put her sun on the wall, she felt like it was too small. We found this one and she felt like it would be the exact size she needed. The told her she would have 7 days to return it if it didn't work so she said DEAL! We both tried and tried to get it on the wall and finally after working with the nail and her continued perserverance - she got it there. Then comes the self-doubt of does it really look better - the green is smaller but soothing and does this one pop the orange out too much? Also - it cost way too much. Then we went to the grocery store to pick up things we needed for supper (which I was going to cook) and rushed home to beat Gerl and SheilaB here! Why we were worried about that is beyond me - they didn't get here until after 4pm. They must have been stopping at every little shop along the way plus they missed signs and drove miles out of the way several times. We laughed and laughed about it. I had told Mae and Judee to come down to visit today and they called to say they were on their way. I calculated we had enough food for everyone so they agreed to stay for dinner. It was a wonderful evening on so many levels - to be with some of my dearest friends who really didn't all know each other too well along w/having Eileen back in the "fold" so to speak - my cup runneth over. Eileen helped me with dinner and every one seemed to enjoy the food as well as the wine and association.
I fixed roasted veggies - sweet potatoes, red potatoes, onion, carrots, turnips, portabello mushrooms, grape tomatoes, asparagus with rosemary, olive oil, sea salt and fresh pepper; spinach salad with fresh pear, fresh goat cheese, crumbled pecans and raspberry walnut dressing. After dinner, we feasted on the key lime pie I had bought - how do I say YUM? After a little more conversation and association, Mae and Judee went back to AB and we got ready for bed. How do I spell SLEEP? Yum again.
I LOVE the sun :) I'm glad you are having a great time with great friends :D
ReplyDeleteWhich one? She took the big yellow/orange one back and kept the green one for now. We all loved both of them but the big one was way too expensive.
