A time to remember.....

During all the stress of the accident, the birth of baby Rose, and upcoming surgeries; I failed to give proper mention to the passing of a dear family member. My daughter-in-law's Paternal Grandmother died on August 5th - the same day our darling Rose was born. She had just turned 87 the month before and had a very full and interesting life. I got to know her better after she and her sweet hubby came to live with Leah's parents - they bought a larger house together and they had the basement apartment. She and her husband met while both of them were in the military. She was an officer and he wasn't which she always loved to share. Leah's Dad tells people his personality didn't develop, he was issued one. Funny. Her dear hubby had already died and she had recently moved to the West Coast to live with one of her two daughters. Her health had worsened and her daughter's circumstances allowed her to be with her more during the day. Leah worked hard to put together a nice Memorial program for an open house her parent's had at their home. Her Dad took Page2 upstairs to explain why people would be coming and why there were so many pictures of Gma V. She put her arms around his neck and said, "I am so sorry your Mommy died PaPa" and Leah said that was it for him and he finally let the tears flow. Then he said Page2 went and got him some tissues to blow his nose. What a sweet little girl. And that is truly what it comes down to - no one wants to lose their Mommy - no matter how old she gets. There goes that tune in my head again -......life without end at last......soon. So a little re-cap - how many emotions can we pack into a few days? Horror, fear, sadness, anxiety, excitement, joy, grief, elation and for every tear, there will be another smile as life goes on.Roseanne now has three grandbabies - what joy! Added to that, her oldest son is getting excellent health care with every hope for a full recovery, her daughter-in-law's surgery was a success, her new granddaughter is very healthy and her daughter is healing well from the C-section and we have a wedding to plan in a few months! Uh oh - another tune...life keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping into the future......
