After I got all my running around done yesterday afternoon I crashed when I first got home - dreading what I had to do to get ready for the luncheon. BigD bought some steaks and ribs and decided to cook the steaks. He went down to visit with GG and called to say she was coming home with him to eat. Her daughter has been here and was going to come by and pick her up on her way home.
I love my sister-in-law - she is a very strong and unique woman. She has been a part of my life since I was a young teenager at Oak Grove. I have wonderful memories of the times I've spent with her and her entire family. I enjoy watching her and BigD together - seeing how much they love each other. If you look closely at the wine glass in her hand, I made it for her. My sister Ruth showed me how to do it and it turned out pretty good. She was bragging about it last night.
I called my friend Ruth to see if she wanted to join us and the party was on. I can't even begin to tell you how good the steaks were. BigD and I got to chat several times with Page and once with Bentley - they were getting ready to do a New England Boil and wanted to make sure they had everything. I need to check and see if it turned out good.
Dwight's niece and her gorgeous youngest daughter (of 3 wonderful young women) came to pick up GG and stayed for awhile to have a few beers and get caught up. BigD and I love this particular niece and her whole family so much. After everyone left, we again talked about how special they are to us and how much we enjoy being with them. Ahhhh - a good evening and nothing done in the house before going to bed. Oh well -
