Atlantic Beach - Day 6

Here we are - almost at the end of our vacation. I was determined to make myself go to Beaufort with the girls today if only for a little while. Kelly assured me she would bring me back any time I felt like I needed to come home. Our first stop is one of our favorite stores
The owner was in much better shape this year - last year he had just lost his wife and wasn't sure if he would be able to keep the shop open.  We were glad to see it still open and he was feeling better.
Kelly pointed out that this ring matches the earrings I bought here last year perfectly so how I could I not buy it? Beautiful blue earrings were purchased by Kelly for Jessie along with
this lovely ring for herself. Douglas rode over with us because he had a hankering for some clam chowder at Clawson's. I went to another shop a few doors down that I like but didn't find anything in the first few minutes I was there that jumped out at me. I started feeling really bad and realized I was sweating profusely. I figured I would get in the car with the AC on and the seat reclined to start feeling better but Kelly insisted on taking me back to the cottage after which she went back to join Jessie and Douglas for awhile.
After I took my medication I felt a better. I played around with my camera later this afternoon. I took the picture above through the window of the cottage from my chair. I think it is cool.
This really is the best time to be on the dock this time of year - when the air starts cooling off but the bugs haven't come out yet. There also was a slight breeze.
Page feeding "Dude". That's what I call this bird who likes to walk around on the dock. He seemed to be quite comfortable with people and got pretty close to her.
The DUCKS!!! It is the first time I've seen them this year. I miss the days when there were no fences and you could feed them in the front yard. A lot of things have changed over the years.
Hiro really, really wants to get outside to see what is making everyone want to be out there?
Miya really wants to know when she can eat at the table with everyone else? She slept on my lap in my chair today for the first time since we have been here. Of course, it didn't hurt that she was under Dwight's comforter (I was feeling pretty chilly). She does love to sleep under the covers. Douglas got some pictures of her in my bed under the covers earlier today.
Jessie kept trying to get a decent picture of me with Kelly but it was hopeless. I'm not sure what is going on with my hair - it flips and twists all kinds of ways. I look like a "Whoo from Whooville".
Okay - maybe not quite that bad. No color in my face at all and I want my eyes back. My mouth is so dry, Kelly had to keep giving me a piece of ice to wet my lips so I could try to smile without having my lips stick to my teeth so bad.
My beautiful girls. Oh - the tattoo on Jessie's arm isn't real so don't freak out. I can't believe school will be starting in a matter of days for Page. This year will be a pivotal year - full of changes for her.  We talked about her changing classes for every subject this year and I asked her if she was nervous. She said she was so I tried to assure her that in a few days, it would become routine. I recall being nervous but I was a little older than she is when we started changing for each subject.
Douglas decided to fish awhile. He is feeling better but still not completely up to par.
Dwight looks like he is zoned out here. He fried up all the rest of the fish
and was finishing up the hush puppies. He makes very good hush puppies. What am I saying? He makes very good anything he cooks.  So Dwight is now asleep, the girls are crafting, Page is playing a game, Douglas is watching TV and I'm getting ready to turn the computer off for the night and get ready for bed. If the weather stays good, Kelly wants to go to the beach one more time before getting on the road around noon but if it is raining, she will get on the road earlier.  We plan to get on the road a little later in the afternoon.  But that is tomorrow so for now - good night......
